Virtual Frames#797

D

For each image, allow configuration of a “virtual frame”. Currently, when looking through a feed, it looks wildly inconsistent because different people have different preferences on how to present their pictures.

Styling Options

Some styling options for frames that aren’t part of the actual image would be nice: black / white, width on all sides, labels top, bottom (left center right) which can be either custom text or bound to EXIF data , possibly a character limited name (which could be tied to a new field for images, an optional ‘Title’).

Benefit

The benefit would be that I can present my images on my profile however I would like to, similar to a gallery, while everyone else’s feed stays visually consistent without random borders popping up.

Downsides

People can still add borders as part of their images anyway. As a follow-up, pre-processing of images during upload to automatically remove a baked-in frame and replace it with a virtual frame could be added (suggest to user, don’t force it).
